Thinking of you

This song is quite relevant to me right now, when I am on tour with Sliotar as I write this, even though I wrote this song when I was back in Dublin. But the unconscious side of my songwriting mind sometimes works in a mysterious ways. This week’s song “Thinking of you” is all about being away from your loved ones. As musician these days touring is even more important than ever before. Through years of hard work we have built a network for Sliotar, and I am lucky enough to get to tour with them quite a lot.

But no matter how exiting the tour is, it is still hard to be away from your loved ones. It is something that can be hard to explain to someone who has not experienced this before. It does eat you away every day. Distance is a hard thing. But at the same time, it is a part of the job I love so much.

This is not only a musician thing. Many of us travel due to our jobs, which can take us away from our families and loved ones. So I do believe the subject of the song will touch many of you “road warriors” out there.
