Lets face it, statistics are boring, but most of us musicians still stare at them all the time. You think you don’t? When was the last time you checked how many followers you have on Facebook? or how many likes your last post got? How many views your Youtube video got? How many plays did your new track get on Soundcloud? Get where I am going?
Well the thing is, checking those statistics are useless exercise, unless you are willing to act on it. So here is something you can do today. Open a blank text document on your computer, or use the notes on your phone. Write down the date and the statistics you follow. For example Twitter followers, Facebook likes, Soundcloud plays, Youtube views. Now this file should be something you come back to once a week, write new date and the statistics of that day. Continue doing this regularly. This will help you see if there is any growth. If not, you need to start working and fast!
If you don’t know how to get more Facebook likes, Twitter followers, Soundcloud plays… Google is your best friend! Just remember this: purchased views, plays and likes will only hurt you more than help you. Find the organic ways to grow your tribe. If you manage to do that, you are on your way to success 🙂
