Quick tip 261 Don’t get too caught up on originality

Music has been around longer than the historians can actually pinpoint. But only in the past century or so have we been able to hear music from different cultures, without leaving our home. But with traveling and mixing of cultures, new musical styles were developed. And now we are so wrapped up in originality, that the need to be different can get on the way of good music.

Let me just spill this out. Everything has been done before, in one form or another. In the past music was based on taking influences from the past and making them more relevant to the current time. So let music evolve naturally, don’t get too caught up in trying to be “original.” Just make music you want to make.
