New year is a perfect opportunity to clean the slate of all the crap we ended up carrying with us the year before. Figure out what works, what does not and what you should concentrate your efforts on. I know it is only a one day, but it is also an opportunity for a fresh start, and you should make the best of it.
I’ll give you few examples. As an artist, figure out what social media you spent the most time last year. How did it compare to the others you use. For example, we get very wrapped up in Facebook, spend a lot of time on it, and the engagement on our music page might not be so high. But at the same time if we post a picture on Instagram, it might have much bigger engagement. Maybe that is where you should spend more time this year.
Musically, how many new songs did you write last year? Can you write more this year? How many of the songs got recorded and released? Could you release more this year? Perfection is admirable, but being prolific will get you much more results. Make a fresh start and go out and create more.
