Quick tip 218 Let people come to you

I did an interview earlier today, and at the end of it I was asked if I had any message for the listeners. My message was “smile and be nice.” I can hear many of you shout out how I missed a perfect opportunity to promote my music. But proven by the failure of the major labels, that is not how it works anymore.

If you google my name, the first thing that comes up is my website. And if you visit my website, it is very easy to find out how and where to buy my music. I am also the only J.P. Kallio on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify… What I mean by this is that it is very easy to find me, if you want to do so. That is why my message is so much more important than telling people to buy my music. If people like what I do, my music, my writing, my vlogs and they want to support me, they will find a way.

Build a community, offer something worth following, spread your message to the world, and let people come to you. Don’t ram your music down their throats.
