Annie’s lament

Few weeks back someone contacted me over Twitter asking if I could write a song about laundromat. Obviously I was bit confused, but it turned out she was a film maker and she has a movie coming out with the same name. So after chatting for a while she sent me the story of the movie. And almost like out of nowhere “Annies lament” was born.

It’s a story of a woman, who’s husband was murdered. The police had no luck solving the crime and Annie can’t let go without knowing what really happened. What really attracted me into this part of the story was that need for closure. When we lose someone dear to us it is hard. But if the circumstances are somehow unclear, often the need for closure can really stop us from being able to grieve, let go and move on.
