9th of August Blog update

charging batteriesIt is hard to sum up this week in any other way than one of the worst I’ve had since the beginning of this project year and eight months ago. We went from my website being down, to numerous WordPress problems, to a specific set of problems that some very experienced experts have not seen, or know how to fix. Due to this, I still can only post very short posts on my website, anything over 825 characters get chopped off, and half of the time, it won’t even let me post anything. I can’t upload any new images to the blog either… and we have spent a full week trying to figure all of this out, and quite few people have offered their help along the way as well, which I am extremely grateful. But still we are none the wiser.

It is hard to sum up this week in any other way than one of the worst I’ve had since the beginning of this project year and eight months ago.

So I am sure you can understand my frustration. I love what I do. I love writing music and blog posts, but this week I haven’t really had a chance to write any blog posts. What I have done is, root around WordPress settings, read through php code to the point that my eyes can’t focus anymore, rooting through files and folders in my server trying to figure out what’s behind all of this.

So as I write this post in the early hours of Sunday morning, I am filled with mixed emotions. It feels great to be writing, but I will posting this on my Tumblr blog, not on my website, and that does kill me…

But hey, we make the best we can with these situations. They are sent to test us, teach us, and make us stronger. And I can say I have learned a lot this week.

1. I learned to put things in perspective, sure my site is down and I will do anything in my power to get it back up, but no one is hurt, I am healthy, and I still have this alternative way to communicate with you guys 🙂

2. When you most need it, peoples generosity and kind spirit knows no limits.

3. There comes a time in every day, when you need to admit that you have done everything in your power, and the only thing you can do is to take a break, go for a walk, do something completely different. And come back the next day with fresh mind.

4. I can still surprise myself with my own will power.

5. I need to learn PHP…

And on top of all this there are only handful of blog posts I was able to get out this week. So lets check them out.

This weeks song was posted here on Tumblr, and you can check it out here

He Ain’t Worth a Dime

On Monday I posted one more video from Sliotar’s summer tour. This one captures a lot of behind the scenes stuff from the tour:

And I also managed to post this weeks only Quick tip on Monday before the website went down. Check it out here:

The rest of the weeks posts ended up being situation updates and you can read below how the events developed during the week.

So once again, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of the lovely messages, help you offered and the understanding during this difficult week. Lets hope all of this gets sorted and I can put the stress of this week behind me. You guys rock!
