And the first week of May just flew by. It was a great week. I had a slow start to this weeks vlogs due to the bank holiday we had here in Ireland last Monday, but boy did I make up for it in the rest of the weeks vlogs 🙂
This week did bring forth some valuable lessons as well, so let’s get straight into it.
This weeks song is all about the relationship between and artist and the audience in a live music setting. The song is available to download from my Bandcamp page right now and you can find the link and read all about it here:
As I mentioned in the beginning of this post, the start to the week was slow. In this vlog I take you to the St. Stephen’s green for a wonder, as apart from my gig, not much more happened in my day 🙂
Again the Monday was a bank holiday here in Ireland and for most part of the day we spent shopping and watching movies. But Brian (the barman, not the banjo player) shares his thoughts on how we should make folk music more sexy:
This weeks studio vlog is a deep one. I share a lot of insight about file management, editing vocals and I show you some of my vocal recording process:
During the week I modified the classic Boss DS-1 for Brian (the banjo man). In this vlog I walk you through the modification and give you a before and after comparison:
As usually is the case, in the Friday’s vlog I talk about this weeks song in more detail. But I also show you my new running shoes and share some music from our sessions during the week:
Last but not least in the Saturday vlog I bring you along to our rehearsals, where you get to hear us working on some new music, as well as performing a live version of “It ain’t easy”, we take you along to the Music maker and finish the day in the Porterhouse for a few drinks and some nice food:
So that wraps up another action packed week. Next week should be good. I have my birthday coming up, so that can take the vlogs in many ways, lets hope for the best 😉
Before I let you go, just a small bit of house keeping. If you enjoy what I do and would like to support me, please consider pledging on my Patreon page. By pledging even $1 a month you get access to my Patreon feed, where you get to ask me questions, communicate in a more direct way and you get to see most new vlogs day before the rest of the world does. So do me a favour and visit the Patreon page HERE. The more support my Patreon page gets, the more awesome things we get to do and vlog about.
So there we go. Next week when I’ll be writing this I’ll be another year older and none the wiser 😀 Hope you guys have a great week.
